Seventies Après Chic

Channel the Seventies when you come off the slopes this season.

The free spirited styles of the Seventies were big news on the autumn/winter 2011-12 catwalks and, with lots of snuggly knits in warming tones of ochre, tan, burgundy and chocolate, the trend translates perfectly into an on-trend après ski wardrobe.

Whether you’ll be hitting the gluvine at Closters, Val Dizzy or St Moritz, make sure you’re seen by the fire in a statement knit – this season’s intarsia and cable knits are must haves for when it comes time to play in the Alps.

Channel Ally McGraw in Love Story with chunky sweaters, worn with coloured jeans or cords, tucked in to heritage Hunter boots; throw a furry gilet over a silk blouse (wear your thermals underneath), and finish the look with a wool fedora – so much chicer than a fleece beanie – and, with the rest of you covered up, throw on a pair of dazzling drop earrings for a subtle touch of bling.
